Directors General Meeting on Urban Policy

Challenges facing cities in the EU, specific proposals and measures to achieve sustainable and balanced urban development will be discussed at the meeting of Directors General responsible for Urban Matters - Urban Agenda for the EU on 20 April 2018 in Sofia. The host of the meeting is the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW). During the meeting of Directors General, the progress made on the key priority themes and areas for urban development, which are outlined in the key strategy papers on urban development of the EU, the Urban Agenda for the EU, will be presented and discussed. Bulgaria is a partner in 4 of the thematic priorities of the Urban Agenda through the participation of 3 Bulgarian cities, Sofia (“Digital transition” partnership), Burgas (“Urban mobility” partnership) and Gabrovo ("Innovative public procurement" partnership), and the Ministry of Environment and Water (“Climate adaptation” partnership).
